Features
Full, modern writing tool included for every day of a month – NotePlan will give you the convenience of a modern writing editor supporting markdown. Add formatting to your task lists and notes to keep it better organized.
Monthly calendar overview with color-coded daily note content – See a summary of your notes and color coded lists in a monthly calendar view. Use keyboard shortcuts to navigate and quickly jump into a day to review or edit it. The calendar will also show you, if you missed out on some tasks, so nothing important slips from your mind.
Schedule tasks to stay organized – If you couldn’t finish a task, don’t leave it unmanaged on the list. Re-schedule it to another day. Or, if you manage a backlog, schedule a todo directly from there onto your calendar.
Backlogs, drafts, bug lists or just text notes, apart from the calendar – Some information is not related to a day and should be kept separated from the calendar. Like bug lists or project backlogs. They can be managed in NotePlan and scheduled directly into the calendar, when required. Notes can be organized by tagging them. In the overview you can filter your notes by tags.
What else? Here is a list:
Your notes are not saved on our servers. You will find them safe and sound in your iCloud Drive.
Integrations to useful apps like iCalender, Reminders, and more are available.

I have tried most task management apps but I was after something a little simpler. Things is great but my workflow involves creating weekly plans which is difficult to emulate in Things. I tried using Bear to manage my tasks but it’s missing a few power features.
What I love about NotePlan: ability to (re)schedule tasks (even from within a normal note), use of Markdown (e.g. Adding titles to split out projects), calendar overview on iPad and iPhone with colour coding (wish this were available on the Mac version too), the availability of some great themes, syncing between devices, tagging, calendar integration. I normally plan my week ahead in the Sunday calendar event (using a title to distinguish the tasks from the daily ones), then I reschedule the individual tasks to a specific day in the week ahead. I use a normal note to maintain a backlog and schedule tasks from there. Simple yet effective.
Deedeers6, The best app everThis app deserves the highest accolade, it is pure genius. It might take a little while to get what the developer has created but work with it for a short time and you will find you have created your very own beautiful highly personalised work space to allow you to do your very best work every day and know that anything we do or don’t do is there waiting for us to pick up on when we are ready. The wiki interaction of loose notes with tags just flows so beautifully. The tutorial videos on the noteplan blog are great for helping get started. Puzzlehound, My most frequently used app?My work is full of tasks and quite a few meetings. I’ve tried many other “todo apps” but I love this unique take on knowing what I’m supposed to be doing during the day, and taking notes and adding tasks as I go. And underpinned with the goodness of Markdown.
What’s not to love?!The developer is excellent: open to ideas and suggestions, and is regularly bringing out improvements. He was also responsive to bug reports during the beta cycle. Developer Response,Thanks a lot for your review! Let me know if there is anything I can improve, write to [email protected] or on Twitter @NotePlanApp:).
